My Mother and Dad have had one of these for years - in the fall we pass it between families for our apple peeling - it makes fast work of peeling- now I bought one for my brother for Christmas and he loves it. I liked this brand the best because it is a little heavier than others I have looked it - I highly recommend this product.

This little machine is very easy to use and keep clean. It peels, cores and slices an apple in 5 seconds, the faster you crank the handle, the better.

The peeler comes ready to peel, core and slice but you can change the setting to core and slice or peel only.

****Important: Read the manual before using the peeler because you'll have to align the peeling and cutting blades (turning the screw clockwise increases the angle of the peeling arm). Also, make sure that the slicing blade is completely centered and that the fork, which holds the apple, passes cleanly through the coring ring). If you use the machine without aligning it first, the blade will peel way too thickly and the corer/slicer will not work properly.

The peeling blade, slicer and corer are quite sharp, but you never touch those parts when processing the apples.

I am giving it 3 stars because the peeling arm has to be adjusted to accommodate different apple sizes. This wouldn't be a problem if one didn't have to reach for a screwdriver every time. Also, centering the slicing blade/fork is a bit of a pain.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and ease of peeling apples AND pears with my inexpensive peeler. I highly recommed it to anyone who has a large amount of peeling, coring and slicing ahead.

This peeler works well and is fun to use. I have had mine for 10 years and just ordered one for each of my grown daughters. They remembered using the one at home when they were younger, and they were happy to receive their own. The new ones appear to be just as well made and durable as my original.

The apple peeler works as expected. The peeler arrived mostly assembled and was easy to assemble the parts that weren't. It made quick work of peeling, coring, and slicing several pounds of apples. Small adjustments are needed to switch from smaller to larger apples. I made a double batch of apple sauce and actually look forward to making it again next year. It was also easy to clean. The best $20+ dollars I've spent in awhile.
