4Good product  Dec 27, 2009
By sassi214
I ordered this item when my old timer (which is almost identical to this one) just went and stopped working on me one day. I loved the model I have, so I wanted something that was similar. This fit the bill. And it was cheaper! The meat thermometer works great and I haven't had any issue with this timer at all yet. (I've had it for less than six months.) My only complaint is that the on/off switch is kind of tough to slide back and forth at times. But it's not a dealbreaker for me.

1Formerly a great product  Jan 22, 2011
By Wendy Spence
This thermometer isn't worth the scrap value if the metal its made of. I owned the older version of this thermometer and it was great it was accurate and reliable and I used it without incident for 3 years. I accidentally dropped it in some water and it no longer worked. Having been very happy with it I went out and bought two replacements both worked reliably for about 2-3 uses before reading Lo all the time. I called Taylor and they replaced them no questions asked and I had them within a couple of days great customer service. Unfortunately the two replacements I received have both done the exact same thing worked perfectly for a few uses and then display only Lo. Trying to save a few cents on material costs have made a bad product stay away from this one, even random defects can't account for 4 defective units in under a year.

5LOVE IT!  Nov 15, 2010
By Michelle S.
A friend of mine has the exact same timer and she raved about hers and so I bought one of my own. I just love it!

I bake bread every week and have used a digital thermometer to test the internal temperature for well over a year now. But I have to remove the bread from the oven and then insert the thermometer. But with this one all I have to do is set it for the internal temperature needed, set the alarm and walk away. It works perfectly.

My office is a considerable distance, at least 50', from my kitchen, and I have no trouble at all hearing the alarm. I just love this thing. Now I can work in my office while my bread bakes and I don't have to worry about forgetting about my bread!

Buy it, you'll love it!

5Darn good product  Jun 11, 2010
By Gloria Day "pedally"
I've had a Taylor Grill thermometer going on 7 years and still works great. Temp is spot on, just remember to get the probe in the center of the food so it reads accurately. I don't think your supposed to put the probe in the dishwasher to clean but I do with no problems. Seems to be loud enough to me. In my 50's with hearing problems, but when the food is being close to done I'm usually close to the grill so alarm is not the problem. Love the temp and timer feature. Use the timer to time grill marks on meat, when to turn and flip, etc. This is the most important tool in my grilling arsenal Highly recommended, just learn how to use it : )

4Sleek and does the job  Dec 10, 2009
By Meghan L. Gallery
After owning the plain white version of this thermometer for a number of years it crapped out on me. Maybe I should have sought another make/model but I really liked the look and usability of this one and I am keeping my fingers crossed this one last longer. Its not like am unrealistic, I know things don't last, but this is a pretty simple electronic device that I think should be a bit more hardy and able to last in a kitchen for more than a handful of years. I love the design and function of this and how it folds flat for magnetic storage.
